A handy combination of two of Serge’s most recent designs. The GATE (left side) is an enhanced redesign of the classic Serge Gates which can be used as a linear or exponential VCA or ring modulator or some interesting combination of these. The VCFX 2023 is a newly designed Serge filter that is essentially a Bandpass, but also offers a Lowpass output.
Features
- GATE: A versatile and unique VCA with 3 Modes, set by the switch:
- DC/Linear: use GAIN to set the base level and apply CV using a processor (attenuverter).
- AC/LOG: similarly, intended for audio, CV can be attenuated. Output is AC coupled.
- MOD: allows to (ring) modulate the signal with another source (MOD).
- 2023 FILTER: Designed by Serge in 2023 as a special Bandpass filter
- Also provides a Lowpass output (2 poles, 12dB).
- Both Frequency and Resonance (Q) can be voltage controlled
