A voltage-controlled analog filter with switchable high and low pass modes.
Grit has 2.5 * gain at the input driving into a limiter to add character to the signal while also keeping the audio in the sweet spot. An LED indicates when the limiter is active and pre-filter there is the “GRIT” button.
This is a unity gain distortion adding further harmonics while maintaining the same level (when the limiter is active). Post filter, Grit has parallel saturation allowing you to dial in the perfect blend of tone.
